- Nice and concise, but examples are platform-specific

- Very clear and concise coverage of many essential database issues. I really appreciate the brevity and lack of unnecessary jargon and formalism. However it's definitely worth pointing out that the examples come from Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Access and to a lesser degree Oracle.
- Excellent introduction to Databases

- If you have found yourself like me trying for several years to implement the database to simplify my work - please try this book.
I'm power user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint - but Access was always a hobbling-goblin for me. Not anymore. Using this book I finally manage to grasp what are basics of databases and more important - how to implement it in Access.
Highly recommended.
- Databases are explained very well

- I recently purchased this book and have only gotten through Chapter 2. So far I think that the book gives a good explanation of databases.
Not far enough into the book to offer much more, but the writing is good. The author makes it easy to understand the technical jargon.
- Great book

- Thumbs up. There are lots of reviews there already, and what they say are mostly true in my opinion. It is a good book to read to get general basic knowledge of Database. However might not be as good if you want to learn a specific database software. The book is written in simple and clear words, and is very organized, which is a huge bonus in my rating.
- Simplified & easy to understand

- The book is very helpful for novice learners of databases. It provides step-by-step guide to those who are new in database design and Microsoft Access. Key concepts like normalization are presented very clearly with relevant examples in business.
